The first and only full, not-for-profit IB World School in Thailand, NIST International School was established in 1992 with the guidance and support of the United Nations. The school now welcomes over 1,500 students of over 50 nationalities and provides all three International Baccalaureate programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). NIST is governed by the Foundation for International Education and is accredited through the Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Recognized worldwide for its progressive approach, the IB programmes provide students with critical 21st century skills. The academic structure emphasizes exploration, risk-taking and trans-disciplinary learning. All students are required to take part in community service activities that encourage participants to empathize with others and take an active role in solving issues. As of 2014, NIST has also partnered with other top international schools to offer the Global Citizen Diploma, a supplementary component that assesses graduates' leadership, service and community engagement.

In addition to its rigorous academics, NIST provides students with an expansive World Languages Programme and more than 300 extra-curricular activity options. As one of the founding members of the Southeast Asia Student Activity Conference (SEASAC), the NIST Falcons compete against their peers from other top schools in Southeast Asia. NIST has also committed itself to IT excellence and innovation. The school offers students the use of MacBook Air computers, iPads, a completely wireless campus, SMART Boards, FrontRow classroom amplification system, and LCD-equipped classrooms.

NIST represents the future of education through its stellar academic achievements; engaged, community-driven culture; forward-looking philosophy; and expansive resources. With its graduates attending the best universities in the world and going on to become community leaders, NIST International School has become recognized as one of Asia’s leading learning institutions.
