Farewell reception for Ambassador Vimon Kidchob, Royal Thai Embassy Copenhagen

Farewell reception 20 September 2017.

Ambassador Vimon Kidchob, Royal Thai Embassy Copenhagen

H.E. Ambassador Vimon Kidchob retires after half a decade as a very hard working Thai Ambassador in Copenhagen covering Kingdom of Denmark, the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Iceland..

On 20 September nearly 200 guests turned up in the garden of Thai Ambassador’s residence to bid farewell to the highly respected Thai Ambassador H.E. Vimon Kidchop. The weather gods smiled at the event and the daring feat of an outdoor reception in the Danish autumn weather turned out most pleasant.

Those who have followed  H.E. Vimon’ Kidchop’s work will appreciate her travel writer quality photos and travel description in Thai language on her Facebook pages. Visiting nearly every corner of Denmark as well as Iceland, Faroe Island, Greenland and the Baltic states, the Ambassador shared her observations and enthusiasm for the destination in such a charming way that no Thai could read these without wanting to follow her footsteps. Likewise the Thai Embassy has been very active in visiting the Thai community with mobile consular services in various parts of Denmark and many activities has been arranged for the large Thai community in Denmark. The annual Thai fair has steadily grown and is now a colorful and welcome event on the cultural scene in Copenhagen every year.

The Thai Embassy in Copenhagen has been very open and welcoming under the leadership of Ambassador Vimon Kidchob and her team. When Danish Thai Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Andersen Consult organized the first Dairy business delegation to Thailand in many years – the ambassador opened her residence for all the Danish delegates prior to departure and gave the Danish export efforts the full support of the Thai Embassy.

The Thai embassy took the lead of ASEAN and Ambassador Vimon Kidchop hosted the yearly  ASEAN day at the Thai residence together with the Ambassadors of Vietnam & Indonesia. With only three ASEAN countries represented with residents ambassadors in Denmark this manifestation is a good reminder to Denmark that Thailand play a historic key role to the large ASEAN market and as Danes we should prioritize this.

Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce thank Ambassador Vimon Kidchop for her kind cooperation and tireless work for Thai-Danish relations and wish her all the best in her retirement from government service.
